Nintendo Switch consoles are becoming increasingly harder to find and purchase, so it makes sense that Nintendo is planning on producing more of them to counteract demand. According to a new Nikkei report, Nintendo plans on producing 10% more Switch consoles in 2020 than in prior years.
In addition, Nintendo has reportedly placed console part orders 50% higher than previous month’s worth, used for the upcoming production schedule between April and June, with its component suppliers. A Nintendo representative spoke to Nikkei saying, “…the outlook [of production increase] remains uncertain, and we can’t forecast exactly how many Switches can be supplied.”
Overall, it seems Nintendo is ramping up production to continue providing Switch consoles around the world, where it can.
