Nintendo has revealed new information and footage regarding the upcoming Expansion Pass DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield as part of this morning’s surprise Nintendo Direct Mini.
Owners of the Isle of Armor DLC will be able to train at a dojo on the Isle of Armor and get the new Pokémon Cubfoo from Master Mustard.
On the Isle of Armor, players will challenge one of the Towers of Two Fists — the Tower of Darkness or the Tower of Waters. Players may only choose one.
Players will have to face the tower’s challenges alone with Cubfoo. Once a Tower is conquered, Cubfoo will evolve into Urshifoo.
Players that conquer the Tower of Darkness will earn Single Strike Style for Urshifoo; those that conquer the Tower of Waters will earn Rapid Strike Style for Urshifoo.
Additionally, starter Pokémon Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon will earn the ability to Gigantamax after players beat the Isle of Armor.
Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon will learn G-Max Drum Solo, Fireball, and Hydrosnipe, respectively; these moves are stronger than Dynamax moves and when used, will cause opponents’ abilities to have no effect when attacking.
The Isle of Armor DLC will also add new hairstyles and clothing, plus new League Card designs and backgrounds.
The Isle of Armor will launch by the end of June 2020 the second part of the Expansion Pass DLC, The Crown Tundra, will launch autumn 2020.
