Earlier this year Platinum Games confirmed it would start self-publishing, and now, as part of the Platinum Four countdown, we know that one of the first games in this initiative is the enigmatic Project G.G.

As the game is in the early stages of production, with Director Hideki Kamiya outright saying that “the finish line is still a long way away” on the official website, the promotional materials only show us a brief glimpse at the game.

In the announcement trailer, we see an Ultraman-style superhero who can transform into a massive form to take on kaiju, and the trailer even outright says it’s the third game in Kamiya’s “superhero trilogy”, which previously featured Viewtiful Joe and The Wondeful 101. Don’t expect any plot connections outside of cheeky easter eggs, however, given that Platinum wants to make sure the game is 100% owned by the studio!

We’ll be sure to bring you more on Project G.G. if it’s announced for Nintendo platforms as and when it’s revealed.
