Comicbook.com released their interviews with Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz on their YouTube channel today. We’ve summarized some of the highlights:

  • For Jim Carrey’s interview, the interviewer opened up by talking about Carrey’s impressive dance moves, commenting “J Lo, eat your heart out,” making Carrey laugh. The two continued by talking about how at the end of the movie Dr. Eggman shaves his head and grows a larger beard, which opens up the possibility of there being another Sonic the Hedgehog movie. This time though, with a “fatter” and more established Robotnik that looks more like the classic Eggman we know. Carrey expressed great interest, but couldn’t promise that there is a sequel in the future.
  • James Marsden, who plays Tom Wachowski, reports in this interview that he was both a Super Nintendo guy and a Sega Genesis fan. When asked if it was more difficult to work with Sonic or the Easter Bunny on set, Marsden jokingly stated that the two had one quality in common and that was their silence. He said they “never talked back” — so they got along pretty well.
  • The voice of Sonic himself, Ben Schwartz, was interviewed last. The first question that was fired his way was if he was going to voice Sonic in any upcoming video games or cartoons. Schwartz humbly replied by saying that he would love to voice Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog related media, especially another movie, but he focused more on paying respects to all the talented voice actors who voiced Sonic in the past.
