I’ve said it multiple times now: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE had one of the best RPG battle systems of recent memory. The Wii U deep cut is getting its well-deserved Encore on Nintendo Switch, and this time Nintendo’s giving a crash course on chart-topping combat.
Things will (fittingly) feel familiar to fans of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, which plays to TMS’ benefit. You’ll still have a good dose of Fire Emblem and a cast unique from both inspirations, but the real star here is the depth of the Session system.
