Activision has been on a roll lately when it comes to bringing its iconic PlayStation 1 games to modern platforms, with Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Crash Team Racing proving to be huge successes. It makes sense that the company would look further afield for other games to modernize, and the rumor mill is suggesting that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is next on the list.

The smoking gun for this rumor is a podcast interview from last month, in which skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, who appeared in Pro Skater 5, stated that Tony Hawk is “coming out with another one, and I’ll be in that too”. The segment in question has since been edited after it became well publicised.

In light of the interview, two other rumor sources who have proven correct in the past, WabiSabi and Liam Robertson, have corroborated reports of a new Tony Hawk game being in development. The former claims prototype remakes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are making the rounds within Activision.

Here’s hoping that, if the rumors pan out, the Birdman skates onto Switch!
