The last two major Sonic releases, Sonic Mania Plus and Team Sonic Racing, were advertised with some incredibly cute short-form animations, giving the characters some silent comedy moments that really allowed their personalities to shine through. If you were hoping the trend will continue you’re in luck, as Sega Animation Director Yukio Kusumoto has confirmed future projects are planned in an interview with ComicBook.com (via Tails Channel). Here’s the full quote:

“I can say we have a plan of continuing this trend creating short-form content per game release, and we can’t announce yet, but several projects have been planned; for those projects, we are in early development, but yes, we will continue releasing this type of content.”

Kusumoto is also up for including dialogue in future shorts, and perhaps making them longer, which should be exciting to see.

No console Sonic games have currently been announced, but this interview implies a few could be on the way! We’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
