Starting this Thursday, on October 17th, at 1 p.m. PT, Trainers will be able to jump into a slightly spookier experience in Pokémon GO. We’ll run through the gist of what you can expect for this Halloween outing:

More ‘mon, new ‘mon, and costumed ‘mon

If you’ve been rescuing Shadow Pokémon at PokéStops over the past few months, it’ll be time to step up your game! More ‘mon are going to need your help, including the following:

  • Weedle
  • Kakuna
  • Beedrill
  • Electabuzz
  • Magmar
  • Lapras
  • Mareep
  • Seedot
  • Nuzleaf
  • Sableye
  • Trapinch
  • Cacnea
  • Shuppet
  • Duskull

Alongside those needing rescue, you’ll also have the opportunity to catch a lot more Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon. Gastly and Murkrow will be among the more frequently seen pocket monsters — and Yamask, the Spirit Pokémon, will be making its appearance in GO for the first time! If you’re lucky, you’ll come across the Shiny variant. Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokémon, will be making its debut in five-star Raids as well.

Some Pokémon will even be wearing creepy-cute Halloween costumes in both Raids and in the wild. So even if you’ve already filled your inventory with most ‘mon, you could diversify it with some pretty decorative additions:

Look forward to Bulbasaur wearing Shedinja costumes, Charmander wearing Cubone costumes, and Squirtle wearing Yamask costumes in raids. In the wild, be on the lookout for Pikachu wearing Mimikyu costumes! If you’re lucky, you might even encounter these alarmingly adorable Pokémon as Shiny Pokémon!

Dress for the occasion and receive bonuses

The Style Shop will be updating with new items that you can dress your avatar in for Halloween. The apparel includes a Zubat Bag, a Pikachu Onesie, a Cubone Cap, a Litwick Cap, and a Mimikyu Bag!

Sign into Pokémon GO and you’ll also enjoy the following:

  • 2× Catch Candy
  • 2× Hatch Candy
  • 2× Transfer Candy

Make sure check your Special Research tab while you’re in the game, too, as a “Forbidden Pokémon” will become available!

The Halloween festivities will run until November 1st at 1 p.m. PT, which gives you plenty of time to dive into all these spooky endeavors. Good luck, Trainers!
