In recent months, Nintendo has been more and more open to sharing its IPs with third party developers, whether it be hats for cars in Rocket League or the wholesale indie-developed Cadence of Hyrule. It looks like another huge cross-over could be on the horizon too, as Fortnite dataminers have discovered references to a “Squidkid” skin and back bling.
We **MIGHT** see a Fortnite x Splatoon Collab..

While it’s possible this could lead to a Splatoon cross-over event, Fortnite has had those with everything from Avengers to Borderlands after all, it’s also possible the term Squidkid is a cheeky allusion to Splatoon’s marketing that may not even be present outside of the game’s data.
We’ll just have to wait and see what comes of it!
