Capcom has been on a roll these past few years, reingorating franchises that had laid dormant with new entries, ports, and remakes. Mega Man is no exception, with a cavalcade of Legacy Collections and the all-new Mega Man 11, but this latest venture for the blue bomber is an unusual one – a collaboration with the Japanese idol group Team Shachi.

As reported by Siliconera, the collab will be fully unveiled at TGS 2019, but we have a teaser trailer to work off for now. In it, old and retired versions of Mega Man, Roll, and Proto Man are enjoying a Team Shachi concert after saving the world for good – until the concert is interrupted by an AI version of Dr. Wily, that is.

With Mega Man turned into a destructive giant robot, an AI version of Dr. Light asks Team Shachi to pick up the mantle and save the day.

We should find out what exactly Mega Man 20XX ~Fight! Team Shachi~ is on September 12th, so be sure to keep an eye on the official website.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
