Yesterday, the latest Pokémon movie saw its debut with Japanese vocals and English subtitles during a pre-screening at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. A CG remake of the very first movie, titled Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution, it is reportedly largely faithful to the original but there’s one major change in the form of Mewtwo’s armored design from the very beginning.

Now, to promote the movie’s official release in Japan starting July 12th, it’s been confirmed by Niantic that the new Armored Mewtwo design will be swooping into Pokémon GO as the next series of Raid battles. As soon as Groudon leaves the latest Raid battle rotation on July 10th, Armored Mewtwo will enter as a Level 5 Raid up until July 31st.

Various new clothing items will also be available via the in-game style shop, so it’s a good time to be a Mewtwo fan!
