Later this month Splatoon 2 will be getting its final Splatfest, and we’ve already seen a lot of merch and art marking the occasion. This latest tribute to the game is a little unexpected, though – a cross-over with Tetris 99!
Splatoon will ink over the next Maximus Cup, slated to start on July 12th at 12 a.m. PT and run till 11:49 p.m. PT on July 15th. If you net 100 points within that timeframe, you’ll unlock a Splatoon 2 theme for the game.

The last themed Maximus Cup gave everyone a Game Boy Tetris theme, complete with changed sound effects and music. We’ll just have to wait and see what the Splatoon make-over looks like!
