While the Nintendo Switch port of Final Fantasy IX is pretty solid, one issue has plagued it since launch – a music bug that restarts tracks after every battle or Tetra Master match. While it may not sound like much on the surface, it means it’s practically impossible to listen to the full renditions of the overworld and dungeon themes without idling or sifting through menus for several minutes.
Thankfully the PlayStation 4 version of the game was patched not that long ago to fix the issue, but it left owners of the other versions confused as to where their update was. Square Enix has addressed the concern, and confirmed that a patch is in the works across the board for Switch, Xbox One, Steam, and Windows 10.
We've heard your feedback, and have patched #FinalFantasy IX on #PS4 (version 1.02) so background music will not restart after every battle or Tetra Master match.
We can also confirm that we're working to fix this issue on #NintendoSwitch, #Xbox One, #Windows 10 and #Steam. pic.twitter.com/Oq3zPNEzxv

Sounds like we’ll soon have a fairly definitive version of the classic JRPG on our hands!
