In an interesting turn of events, it looks like Niantic and Pokémon GO have created a new way of announcing Community Day featured Pokémon… mini trailers! We got our first taste of this kind of announcement earlier today, with Pokémon GO using this new format to announce Slakoth as June’s special feature, with next month’s Community Day happening on June 8th.

In this mini-trailer, the company asks what it might be like to imagine Pokémon if they existed in the real world… a question likely on everyone’s minds after the launch of Detective Pikachu less than two weeks ago. In the video, Slakoth is depicted lovingly clinging onto the ankle of an innocent bystander… with two more trailing behind it, making it harder and hard for the poor woman to walk.

It’s not a long or particularly interesting video by any means, but if it’s one thing, it IS cute! And, while there’s no telling if this will become the standard for Pokémon GO moving forward, it certainly proves as an evolution to the way Niantic making announcements!

You’ll be able to catch Slakoth, including Shiny Slakoth, in increased numbers on June 8th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Be on the lookout for more details surrounding next month’s Community Day!
