Pokémon GO made $65 million in April, up 15% from 2018 | Nintendo Wire

It’s time for more thrilling financial reports! Niantic’s Pokémon GO racked up 65 million dollars in April, a 15% increase compared to the same month in 2018. Overall, spending is up 33% in 2019 as a whole compared to last year, and both Japanese and US players spend roughly the same amount on the game total. It ranked #7 in worldwide revenue last month, just behind Clash of Clans.

What does that mean to us on the consumer side of things? Very little! The game is successful and is continuing to grow, which will (hopefully) encourage Niantic to keep providing content and updates for it moving forward. If you’re an investor, meanwhile, just enjoy that Scrooge McDuck pool of money you swim around in. What else would you do with all that cash, anyway? Maybe it’s going into making sure the Detective Pikachu CGI is actually good…
