There’s been a bit of concern and consternation over some of Splatoon 2’s latest gear. While the game has drowned fans in free updates and equipment in the past, this latest batch (born via a fan contest with Japanese magazine and Pokémon infomine CoroCoro) has some squid kids in a tizzy. As the gear is only available by a promo code found in the most recent issue of CoroCoro, it means fans outside of Japan are left without the fresh future threads.
I like to be optimistic, and hope that sometime soon we’ll see the gear available as a downloadable present. Maybe the terms of the promo mean it has to be a CoroCoro exclusive for a certain amount of time, though similar promo gear has yet to surface. The footage above shows the full mecha set in action and with various hairstyles; and while it might not be a look I’d take into Turf Wars, it’s still content that fans the world over should have access to.
