During last month’s Sega Fes, the Japanese publisher and developer confirmed that it would be working on three official Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games tie-ins. Two of those will be Mario & Sonic crossing over once more, one for Switch and the other for mobile, while the third is a slightly more serious simulation of the sporting event for multiple platforms.

If you’re eager to run the 500 meters without a giant talking hedgehog for competition, then you’ll be happy to hear that it’ll be launching in Japan for Switch and PS4 on July 24th, 2019, giving players a year exactly to brush up before the real games begin on July 24th, 2020. Check out the trailer:

Hopefully the game will launch across the rest of the world around the same time!
