Given how many Lego games TT Games has worked on over the past decade, it’s easy to forget that the formula got its start way back in 2005 with a game that retold the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The last Lego game set in the galaxy far, far away was purely focused on The Force Awakens and released in 2016 – since then we’ve gotten several movies and spin-off material, so it was a matter of time before we saw TT Games return.

The announcement of a new game, however, has come from an unusual place – an accidental slip of the tongue by Skywalker Sound’s Matt Wood. In the captured Instagram clip below, he mentions that a Lego Star Wars game is being worked on.

Eurogamer, meanwhile, seems to know that the game is in the works. Excitingly, they’ve heard that it will focus on retelling the entire Skywalker saga as a whole, including the unadapted The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, with the final product being described as the “ultimate” Lego Star Wars game.

If the game is set to launch this year we’ll surely hear about it in the coming months, so stay tuned!
