Today is the big day at PAX East, where finalists from throughout the United States are duking it out to be the best there ever was. The focus is on two particular games; Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. A pattern of sorts, given how Nintendo has hosted competitions celebrating these two games, so is it foolish to hope that stock matches and ink smackdowns will return to E3?
Nope, because it’s happening! Announced via the Nintendo VS Twitter, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 and Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019 will be taking place on June 8th in Los Angeles. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate appears to be centered around a 3 vs. 3 match format where as Splatoon 2 will be the same as last year’s. Besides that, all we know is that these two championships will have teams from North America, Japan, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand competiting to see who will claim 2019’s title of being #1 in the world.
Mark the date everyone, the #SmashBrosUltimate and #Splatoon2 World Championships will take place on 6/8! Our #NintendoNAO19 Champions will be representing the US in all the action. Stay tuned for more info in the future. pic.twitter.com/o6zLbHlsaq
