It’s been a busy February so far for Pokémon GO. We’re currently in the midst of a Lunar New Year event, a shiny Meltan hunt, and now we have another special experience active in the game. This activity is all about friends, focusing on the friendship system that was implemented last year.

What are the boosts though? Niantic posted the details online via Twitter and their blog dedicated to Pokémon GO with the following information:

Date + Time

  • Feb. 8, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST to Feb. 11, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8)

Bonuses

  • Friendship increases twice as fast all weekend!
  • Double Candy received for each trade!
  • Trades need only half the regular amount of Stardust!

We heard rumblings about this and a Valentine’s Day themed-event across social media. Now that this friendship event has been confirmed, perhaps we’ll see another overlap next week with Community Day and the supposed Valentine’s Day campaign. Stay tuned, and we’ll report back with details as soon as they’re made available!
