Almost three months shy of its release, Detective Pikachu will become a force to be reckoned with at the box office. Shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary Pictures has ordered a sequel and has publicly announced a writer too. Oren Uziel’s name might not sound familiar, but he has certainly been working within the “video-games-to-movies” scene. Credited with being a writer for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, an episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, the in-development Mortal Kombat film, and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Oren looks to be a stellar pick for the initial drafts.

Other than the announcement, there were no further details released. Hopefully that if there’s an after credit scene with the first Detective Pikachu film, that we can get a hint as to what the next case may be.

Detective Pikachu will be out in theaters on May 10th.
