There are many ways to bring holiday cheer to those around you this time of year, when hearts are alight with the joy of goodwill and flagrant consumerism. But rather than try and sway you with sales or platitudes, Nintendo of Japan’s official Line account is giving us the gift of song. And who, pray tell, is leading this carol? Why, it could only be… Toad…

More specifically it’s Kinopio-kun, a green Toad who serves as the mascot of the Line account. Normally, he’s added into artwork or scenes from games, and this time it’s thanks to Karaoke Joysound that he’s bringing “Joy to the World” to new heights. Let’s all take a moment and listen, shall we?

Can you believe he’s never been formally taught? This decks the halls to new heights — and I mean literally, because what even is that vocal register? And what better backdrop for the sonic equivalent of dentistry than B-roll of Breath of the Wild. Truly this is the greatest time of year, and for 2018 part of that splendor comes straight from Kinopio-kun to you, to your eventual nightmares.
