Do you remember Tamagotchi? Well, sorry to break it to you, but the virtual pet you stuffed under the bed a few decades ago has likely passed away by now, but no fear! This latest rumor suggests we could be getting a Pokémon-themed follow-up…

Serebii.net is reporting that Japanese image boards have lit up with discussion surrounding this advertising copy featuring an Eevee-themed Tamagotchi. Two case designs are displayed – a standard Eevee one, and another featuring its evolutions.

The Pokémon Company is no stranger to virtual pets, two “Pocket Pikachu” devices were released in the late ’90s, but this collaboration would be quite the breakthrough – Digimon was effectively Bandai’s spin-off of the Tamagotchi concept, afterall.

It’s worth noting that this is still a rumor, but we’ll hopefully get an official announcement soon enough!
