If you’re an avid amiibo collector you likely have the Gold Mega Man amiibo that came with the Collector’s Edition version of Mega Man Legacy Collection on the Nintendo 3DS. Now, the new Mega Man 11 amiibo is getting the same treatment, but you’ll have a harder time finding this one…

A special raffle has been announced for Japan where lucky 10 entrants will come away with a Golden Mega Man 11 amiibo, and right now it’s the only way you could possibly get one. If this sounds familiar then you may be remembering the gold and silver Monster Hunter Stories amiibo that were similarly announced as competition prizes last year.

Thankfully the golden Mega Man likely won’t have any unique properties within the game itself, but it’s sure to frustrate those who want to collect the full set of figures!

Always excited to see something a little bit different, Tom is ready to report on games of all shapes and sizes, whether they be wonderful or weird (or, better yet, both.) Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.

Who’s giving these away though? Because if it’s not Nintendo themselves they are nothing more than a custom amiibo, and an easy diy one at that. If it has no special function, it’s doubtful it’s official. Gold and silver Mario as well as the gold smash mega Man all had special functions. From what I could tell the monster Hunter ones from before weren’t official either.
