The trailer for Splatoon 2’s Ver. 4 in the recent Nintendo Direct ended with a tease of a new special weapon that was reminiscent of Goku’s “Spirit Bomb” in Dragon Ball Z. Now, we can see that the similarities are in more than the attack itself.
A new Special Weapon called the Booyah Bomb is coming to #Splatoon2. Once activated, charge it up faster by signaling “Booyah!” Teammates can also get a small bonus to their special meter with "Booyah!" rally cries of their own! Unleash it once it's charged for a big inksplosion! pic.twitter.com/3aQRJYcwzk

The Nintendo Versus account tweeted information about the new Booyah Bomb special. The player using the bomb lifts up into the air, building up an inky ball above their head. The tweet says that players can “charge it up faster by signaling “Booyah!”, meaning that me spamming the Booyah button will have an actual gameplay effect. After it has grown, the ball is thrown down, creating a large “inksplosion”, as the tweet calls it.
Even more fun, anyone on your team who responds “Booyah!” will get extra meter for their own Special attacks. In practice, this really is like lending Goku your energy for his Spirit Bomb, except everyone is squids.
