Back in May it was announced that Professor Layton and the Curious Village, the first game in the long-running series, would be heading to smartphones with the subtitle EXHD. Now, the official AppStore Twitter account has confirmed the re-release is heading westward.

The most intriguing part of the Tweet, however, is the Nintendo hashtag. This suggests Nintendo will be publishing the game overseas, but it could also just be Apple’s social media manager throwing it in to grab attention through nostalgia.
We’ll have to wait and see if this game, and Nintendo’s other mobile projects, show up during this Wednesday’s Apple Special Event.
