Retro Studios just can’t stay away from Metroid it seems, with a well hidden easter egg to the DKCTF developer’s previous work on the Metroid Prime series popping up in stage 4-3. As stated in the original tweet, this can be found both on Wii U and Switch versions of the game.
Looks like what made it so tricky could be that it needs a little underwater backtracking to pull off. A big congrats and thank you to Shane for discovering this and sharing it with the world! Now, the galaxy may finally be at peace.
