There was a time when it seemed Pokémon GO was everywhere. Parks, beaches, coffee shops, suburbs, landmarks, and more saw mobile Trainers gathering en masse trying to capture ‘mon. This was a time when I know for a fact friends ran out to the streets around two in the morning just because a Snorlax showed up, and while those days might be gone, the game is still GOing strong in its own way.

According to Venture Beat, this summer is hosting the highest number of players since that 2016 launch. This is more than likely due to several factors, such as the various updates the game has received. More Pokémon, Alolan forms, more goals for players to strive for, events, raids, trading, and friend lists have all come to game relatively recently — and when you add in the freedom of the season, it’s enough to tempt me to download the game again and see what all the fuss is about.
