Pokémon’s Legendary Pokémon distributions have been going on all year, and for the month of May we come to two of the more recent ones. Xerneas and Yveltal headlined Pokemon X & Y respectively, becoming a big part of Kalos and the events of those games. Join various staff members as they discuss some of the behind-the-scenes details of good ol’ space deer and laser bat.

The details on Xerneas are the most interesting to me. As one of the first Fairy-types, and one that most players would see by it being on the box, it makes sense that so many designers would have to be consulted and contribute to its creation. I may not have the highest praise for Gen VI overall, but Xerneas did play a big part in swaying me to pick up X over Y.

Just like Palkia and Dialga, they should be distributed on cards that give you a predetermined one based on if you’re claiming it in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon. Yveltal will be given to players of the Sun games, while Xerneas comes to those who’ve chosen Moon. You’ll be able to grab each of these from GameStop stores starting May 4th and lasting all the way ’til May 27th.
