Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct opened with the announcement of WarioWare Gold, a Rhythm Heaven Megamix-style collection of microgames old and new. While we knew several characters would be getting updated designs, a piece of info that wasn’t really highlighted in the western Directs appears on the press site: “for the first time, the game includes fully voiced characters.”

The Japanese Direct gave us a brief glimpse of this, with Wario seemingly setting up his own streaming channel and addressing his audience. From the sound of things he won’t be voiced by Charles Martinet, either, at least in Japan.

We’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out when WarioWare Gold launches in North America on August 3rd and in Europe on July 27th.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
