Ever since Kirby Star Allies was announced last year, it’s always been assumed that amiibo would be compatible with the game. Over the last few months more details have emerged, and we finally know what you’ll get upon scanning an amiibo. Shown off in a video posted on the Nintendo’s Japanese YouTube account, the last 30 seconds display the differences between Kirby and the rest of the compatible amiibo (King Dedede, Meta Knight, Waddle Dee, and Qbby).
Scanning King Dedede, Meta Knight, or Waddle Dee will grant you two stars, a healing item, and a puzzle piece. Using Kirby instead will give you two puzzle pieces and a better healing item, similar to the Maxim Tomato.
Disappointing? Possibly. There could be more features available, but for now this seems to fit in with what amiibo functionality has offered throughout recent months.
