One of my favorite releases for the Switch last year, eShop or otherwise, was SteamWorld Dig 2. It was addicting, offered just the right amount of challenge, and rewarded those eager to boldly go and explore each and every corner of its subterranean world. If you haven’t jumped on board Nintendo’s latest hardware and you’ve been feeling left out, worry not: the good people over at Image & Form just unearthed a gem of a reveal — SteamWorld Dig 2 is coming to 3DS!

The company is no stranger to the platform, what with the first SteamWorld Dig debuting on the system. This homecoming will be running at 60 fps even with 3D on, giving handheld devotees some buttery smooth performance on an already great game to look at. You’ll be able to see for yourself when SteamWorld Dig 2 makes its 3DS eShop debut on February 22nd for $19.99.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
