Starting at 1 p.m. PT today, Pokémon GO has been flooded with Generation 3 Pokémon. As reported yesterday, Niantic left a few more surprises — and The Silph Road is tearing into what’s new.
First up, you’ll come across these Hoenn Pokémon in the wild:
- Castform
- Swablu
- Surskit
- Masquerain
- Bagon
- Shelgon
- Taillow
- Swellow
- Volbeat
- Illumise
- Beldum
- Metang
- Tropius
- Wingull
- Chimecho
Shiny hunters, you have a new target. Swablu has been confirmed to be dropping its sky blue for shiny gold. It’ll take awhile to evolve your new friends into an Altaria though. Like Magikarp, you’ll be grinding for 400 candies.
Three Pokémon are region specific. Since details are breaking at this point, it’s being speculated that Volbeat is tied to Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. Its counterpart, Illumise, is found in North and South America, but there’s some guessing that they’ll be available in Africa, too. Lastly, there’s Tropius, who’s also being speculated as residing in Africa.
As for raids, so far the following Pokémon have been discovered in the updated pool: Swablu, Snorunt, Dewgong, Jynx, Azumarill, Piloswine, Feraligatr, and Rayquaza. Yes! Rayquaza will be available until March 16th, and it’s active now along with Kyogre. That’s right: you’ll see both Legendary behemoths today.
Concerning who’s been added to 2k, 5k, and 10k eggs, The Silph Road is still composing that list. Fingers crossed that Swablu will be at least included!
Lastly, don’t be shocked if a Taillow you’ve tracked down turns out to be a Ditto. Hopefully the first one you find won’t pull this trick!
Happy hunting this weekend!
