More and more competitive Smash Bros. tournaments seem to be getting the big sponsorship from the Big N. But while Nintendo sponsoring last month’s Genesis 5 was hardly anything new, it’s now become sponsors of the Frostbite 2018 tournament in Dearborn, MI, offering its assistance to another contest in the community.

This is the third installment of the Frostbite tournament series, started by community member Vayseth as an event to attract overseas players (particularly those from Japan) to America. It’s somewhat unique in that it’s solely a Smash 4 tournament, rather than the usual joint Melee/Smash 4 affair (though this year they’ve added Rivals of Aether). Regardless, the major holds the finest talent that Smash 4 currently has to offer, so if you’re a fan of the game you won’t want to miss it.

The tournament kicks off Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. CST, while Sunday Top 8 begins at 5:00 p.m. CST. You can tune into the action then, and support the tournament by buying or donating in the Frostbite shop.
