Holiday and themed focuses have been a staple of Fire Emblem Heroes since last Spring. Ever since those bunny themed heroes hopped our way we’ve seen brides, beachwear, and plenty more yet something felt a little repetitive.

Each of these special variants (save a couple exceptions) were from either Fire Emblem Awakening or Fates. Popular and known as these games are it made “sense”, but for a game celebrating over two decades of characters it felt stifling.

That changes with this next group, and I think you’re all just gonna love ‘em.

First are a pair of Elibe nobles toting chocolates and flowers: the always popular Roy and his sweetheart Lilina are joining in to bring some puppy love to the proceedings. Both come on horseback with bow and (green) magic respectively. They aren’t the only ones though, as the also always popular Lyn and recent Choose Your Legend winner Hector are here to give American fans some 2003 flashbacks. With a new version of Armads and a blue tome, it’s something old and something new to make this Valentine’s Day a real treat.

Expect the usual new maps and quests along with their addition to the summoning pool. It’s also worth noting that fellow Blazing Blade Lord Eliwood is also joining in judging by the trailer. Presumably he’ll be some kind of Tempest Trial reward like New Year’s Corrin before him. With the continued presence of daily special maps and the recent 50 orb present this could just be the time to do your best and go the whole set. As always – good luck!
