Despite a Hollywood movie adaptation being surprisingly far in pre-production, with a certain Merc with a Mouth being cast in the lead role just a few days ago, the Pokémon Company has said surprisingly little about the Detective Pikachu 3DS game heading overseas. Originally released in Japan last February, it’s been a frustrating wait.
It may soon be here, though, with European ratings board PEGI finally rating the game on its website. While the date is listed as December 31st 2020, it’s likely just a placeholder.

The gameplay in Detective Pikachu is a relatively simple affair, with you piecing together various clues and solving family-friendly mysteries. Quick Time Events are also present in certain cutscenes, though failing them just changes a few animations.
We’ll be sure to bring more news when the game is officially confirmed for release.
