Earlier this year The Pokémon Company released the 20th animated Pokémon movie, “I Choose You!”, which turned out to be a nostalgia-laden re-imagining of Ash Ketchum’s original journey through Kanto. Of course they’re not stopping there; earlier today in Japan 2018’s movie got a teaser trailer during the variety show Oha Suta. While it does not yet have a title, we get a glimpse at the setting, and it’s quite intriguing.

Once again it looks like the movie isn’t taking place during the Sun & Moon arc of the ongoing anime, instead showing a redesigned Ash wearing the same cap he wore in the last movie, suggesting the films might essentially be in their own universe at this point. We also get to see a new female character. According to Serebii, the trailer uses Lugia’s theme from The Power of One, the second movie released, which is fitting considering I Choose You! focused on Ho-Oh.

We’ll bring more as its announced.
