Japanese developer Level-5 has kicked off many popular IPs from Nintendo handhelds, from the venerable Professor Layton to the more recent Yo-kai Watch. Nestled among those is Inazuma Eleven, which got its start on the original DS back in 2008. While not nearly as popular in the US compared to Japan and Europe, the franchise has a steady fanbase and many were wondering where the next entry would end up. Now, it turns out it’ll be on quite a few platforms.

Inazuma Eleven Ares will take the soccer RPG to the Nintendo Switch, as well as PS4 and smart devices. The game was fully revealed earlier today in a Level-5 stream, and you can check out the relevant gameplay snippet below:

While a release in Europe seems somewhat inevitable, a release in North America is a bit more up in the air. Thanks to the Switch’s lack of a region lock, though, it should be relatively easy for fans around the globe to play it.

Inazuma Eleven Ares launches in summer of 2018 in Japan.
