Yesterday’s Direct showed off a lot of titles and among them was a nice little surprise in the form of Mario Party: The Top 100. In what footage has been shown we’ve only seen minigames, and while they’re definitely the life of the party, there’s something else that makes a Mario Party what it is: boards. Everything mentioned about the Top 100 yesterday seemed to imply that it’ll just be minigames, but now that the teaser site for the game is open we know dice managed to secure an invitation after all.

That said, it’s unlikely that they’re getting the same best of treatment as the minigames, which makes sense with how varied each of the games were in terms of board mechanics. Still, knowing the game won’t just be menus has me a little more interested than I already was. The site also mentions the ability to set favorites and speeding things up with “simple minigame instructions.” We’ll know what exactly that means as we count down the days ’til November 10th.
