Due to their Japanese exclusivity we’ve spent a lot of time wondering if the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo would work in the just released localized version. Thanks to a video courtesy of IGN, we can see that the entire set is still compatible, with each figure giving you that character’s designated monster mount.
 

 
These amiibo unlocked critters are versions of Monsties you can access in game, though with unique names and better stats by default. Theoretically you should be able to hatch Monsties identical to these from a gameplay perspective with enough time and dedication, but these figures look good enough and speed things up to an extent that they should still definitely be considered by any fan or collector.
