Blaster Master Zero fans, rejoice! As promised at Anime Expo last month, today’s the day that Yacht Club Games’ own azure hero joins Inti Create’s throwback. Shovel Knight is available for free for the next two weeks, meaning anyone who owns BMZ can grab him for absolutely nothing save a trip to the in-game accessed eShop page. If, for whatever reason, you don’t download it in this timeframe or you just don’t have the game yet, worry not: Shovel Knight will be available for $1.99 after the free period ends.
Still, you can’t beat free. After Gunvolt, Ekoro and Shantae took their places in the game, it’s great to see Shovel Knight take to the underground caverns. As this is the last character to be added that we know of, this could be it for BMZ’s post-game support. That said, I wouldn’t mind another surprise or two to give me even more excuses to jump back in.
