Update: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS have been updated to version 1.1.7 to support Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta.

Lucky amiibo fans have been getting some of this Friday’s Super Smash Bros. amiibo early. Redditor kimidorihanabura shared their latest addition — Bayonetta Player 2 amiibo (thanks to Best Buy’s efficient shipping route) — on r/amiibo.

Fellow Redditor SoulKinetix asked a very odd question, but bayo-oh-bayo, a topic brought up in the comment section ended up providing us with an answer to a rumor that’s been circulating.

Anyone who has either versions of Bayonetta, Corrin or Cloud won’t be able to use them in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and/or 3DS. No word on when a patch will be out, but if we have to guess, it’ll be sometime Thursday evening or Friday morning so that these new amiibo will work within the games.

Sort of a brilliant way to enforce street dates, huh?
