The next game in the Layton franchise is heading to smartphones next month and to the Nintendo 3DS this fall. Subtitled “Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy”, it follows Professor Layton’s daughter and features plenty of colorful characters. Not only that but some real world puzzle events will be taking place across the globe in the run-up to release, courtesy of real-escape game creation company SCRAP. As described by Gematsu, players will be tasked with solving 50 puzzles that will appear across the internet and in 10 countries, including Japan, the US, the UK, Australia and South Korea.

The world-wide event will take place for around three months, starting today and ending on September 21st. You can check out the first puzzle on the official Layton World site.

Good luck with the puzzles!
