The Octarians have certainly improved their defenses and offenses during the last two years. (By the way, Splatoon, “Happy Squidversary!” — as you just turned two over the weekend.)
Today, Japan’s Splatoon Twitter account is introducing the Octoreverser. This baddie spits out “Rolling Gallium” — a bundle of metal tubes/rods that will be sent your way that can knock you down. If you time it just right though, you can hit the “Rolling Gallium” back at the Octoreverser.
pic.twitter.com/Y7c1LVT7JS— Splatoon(スプラトゥーン) (@SplatoonJP) May 30, 2017
These devices are found throughout the game, too, thanks to a delivery system that’ll spawn them wherever you find those metal chutes. Shooting or hitting these bundles will send them careening across the map. If you’re lucky, you’ll take out an enemy or two. Hit one just right and you can send it flying, taking out hard to reach Octarians!
Many thanks to Nintendo Wire’s Ricky Berg for clarifying the enemy and weapon names. We’re curious to see how they’ll be localized, as gallium is an element on the periodic table. Knowing Nintendo of America, if it can compose a pun for it, that’s most definitely what we’ll get.
