At the end of June, the Pokémon Center in Tohoku will be celebrating its reopening. The store’s mascots — Pikachu, Victini and Rowlet — are taking center stage as they’ll be featured in new merchandise and events.

First, a special Victini will be available to download for Pokémon Sun and Moon. The distribution will run from June 30th to September 3rd. As of right now, Victini’s moveset has not been shared.

Every week, visitors can pick up a Special Clear Card. Each week’s design is different, but it always includes Pikachu, Victini and Rowlet enjoying summer. These will be handed out while supplies last — and for those who love the first design, be aware that these will be given at pre-opening celebrations. Hopefully the Pokémon Center has plenty printed up for everyone!

With every purchase that hits 5,000 yen, fans will receive a keychain celebrating Tanabata. Two Pikachus are dressed up as Orihime and Hikoboshi, the stars Vega and Altair, as the holiday celebrates the reunion of these two deities. Here they’re joined forever and will make a cute addition to any bag!

Speaking of bags, new shopping bags will debut. On one side the Tanabata keychain is illustrated next to a paper strip wish featuring Pikachu, Rowlet, Victini, Jirachi, Jigglypuff and Snivy. The other has a scene of a variety of Pokémon gathering around a Wish tree to decorate… even though the Alolan Executor in the background would be a good candidate for hanging hundreds of wishes! These bags will be available while supplies last.

If you’re smitten with Pikachu dressed up as Rowlet (I know I am), upon purchasing five Pokémon card packs shoppers will receive a promo card featuring just this! Dubbed “Tohoku’s Pikachu,” the artwork features the same “Pikachu in a Rowlet costume” that is being used to promote the event!

As much as we’d love to see this Pikachu costume combo become a plush reality, it will at least be one of three costumes that Pikachu will wear during photo opportunities. Tohoku is the first Pokémon Center to have Pikachu dress up in Victini, Jirachi and Rowlet capes. After that, other Pokémon Centers will have Pikachu visit in Victini or Rowlet outfits as the Jirachi cape is exclusive to Tohoku.

Lastly, from June 30th to July 7th, the store will be celebrating Tanabata by inviting customers to write wishes that’ll be displayed on Pokémon streamers during Sendai’s Tanabata Festival in early August.

Hoping to see these costume Pikachu outfits become a plush reality? Wishing for some super cute merchandise designs when the store opens? We want to know what you’d like to see — just post down in the comments below!
