Earlier today Sonic Mania’s official Steam page went live and it looks like the accompanying trailer may have jumped the gun, as it lists an August 15th release date for the retro revival.
The game was originally planned for release in Q2 2017 but it was pushed back to the summer, so this new date lines up. That said, there’s no way of knowing if it will launch on all platforms on the same day, especially considering the Switch version is being ported by a different company.
