Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia might only be launching in Japan later today, but players of Fire Emblem Heroes from all over the world can still get in on the celebration. Not only are there new characters available to try for in the current Summoning Focus, but a host of new quests and rewards tied to the game are as well. Starting today, logging in will grant players five orbs for free (enough for a single summon chance, as it were), but past that you’ll need to put in just a little bit of work.

By defeating a single enemy you’ll be granted a three star version of Palla. She’s the eldest of a trio of pegasus riding sisters who were featured in the very first Fire Emblem game as well as Fire Emblem Gaiden — the game being remade as Fire Emblem Echoes. Progressing through the quests, players will be able to earn three star versions of Catria and Est to round out the trio. Leveling them up and completing more quests will mean even more free orbs and a trio of heroes added to your lineup. It’s great timing for another line of quests recently added that require the use of flying characters; so long as you have one more, you can have a full team to earn an even greater number of orbs.

If you’ve been drifting away from Fire Emblem Heroes or haven’t given it a shot, now’s a great time to jump in. The anticipation for Shadows of Valentia is growing; and with main character Alm being part of the ongoing Focus, you could end up lucky enough to have an early look at the upcoming game’s characters, thanks to all these free orbs.
