We’ve been getting bits and pieces of information about the brand new Pokémon Sun & Moon anime hitting the Disney XD channel ever since last year, but we hadn’t yet heard anything about when the series would be premiering. Well, Pokéfans, the wait is over!

The Pokémon Company has finally announced that we can dive into the world of Sun & Moon on May 12th. Starting at 9 p.m., you can start your new adventure with Ash and co. by watching the very first two episodes. The third episode will air the next day, Saturday, May 13th, during the normal Pokémon time slot at 9:00 a.m.

“Our heroes have many exciting new Pokémon to discover and interesting people to learn from along the way. More new faces will help guide Ash’s latest journeys—but frequent foes Team Rocket have also made the trip to Alola, looking to swipe some high-powered new Pokémon. They’ll have competition from the ruffians of Team Skull, who delight in causing chaos and may have more sinister intentions…”

The event doesn’t stop there though! Hop back to Disney XD that Saturday at 5:00 p.m. to view a special presentation of Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. Make sure to check your local listings to confirm the channel and time in your area.

Get a glimpse of the Sun & Moon anime by watching the first US trailer below! Whether you’ve already seen it before or not, it’ll be sure to make this weekly countdown until the series’ release a bit more bearable.
