Earlier today Capcom held its Ace Attorney 15th Anniversary livestream in Japan. Naturally, the next game in the series got the spotlight – Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodō Ryūnosuke no Bōken 2, or The Great Ace Attorney 2.

Taking place towards the end of the 19th century, The Great Ace Attorney follows the adventures of Phoenix Wright’s ancestor, Ryūnosuke. It features its very own take on Sherlock Holmes, Watson, and has a slight globe trotting aspect. Unfortunately the first game has yet to release in the west, despite being published in Japan before the recent Spirit of Justice, due to “certain circumstances”.

Either way you can check out a new trailer for the game’s 3DS sequel below:

Here’s hoping these games eventually do come over!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
