During last week’s Nindies Showcase, VBlank Entertainment, the indie developer behind the widely popular Retro City Rampage, announced that Shakedown Hawaii would be coming to the Nintendo Switch this April. Shakedown Hawaii was originally announced as a 3DS title, but many feared that development may have ceased in favor of focusing on a Switch release.

Luckily, thanks to a brief interview between Nintendo Life and VBlank Entertainment head Brian Provinciano, those fears have been put to rest. Mr. Provinciano confirms that his studio is still committed to releasing a 3DS version of the game sometime in 2017. According to the interview, the title will be supported on both the standard and New 3DS, will run at a buttery smooth 60fps, and will even support the New 3DS’ C-stick.

While we don’t currently have a solid release date for Shakedown Hawaii on 3DS, it’s good to know it’s still in development! How would you rather play: on 3DS or the Switch? Let us know in the comments below.
